About Us

Rick Levy, PhD
Dr. Rick Levy has been a pioneer in the field of mind-body medicine since 1976. A clinical psychologist in private practice serving an international clientele, as well as an author, speaker and consultant, Dr. Levy is owner/director of The Levy Centers for Mind-Body Medicine and Human Potential, USA, and Chair Professor of Mind-body Medicine and Human Excellence at Amity University (the number one ranked private university in India with 14 campuses worldwide). His seminal book Miraculous Health: How to Heal Your Body by Unleashing the Hidden Power of Your Mind was published in 2008 by Beyond Words, followed by The Happiness Sutra: How to Live a Heroic Life, Free of Stress, now in its second printing by Amity University Press. From 2008 to 2010 he hosted the U.S. public television mini-series Miraculous Health produced by Pantheon Studios. His extraordinary success in treating PTSD is showcased in the book Hidden Battles on Unseen Fronts by Celia Straus for the U.S. Armed Forces Foundation. He has been honored by the U.S. Congress and National Institutes of Health; the World Congress of Clinical and Preventive Cardiology; and Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare of India, for his contributions to human wellbeing.
Dr. Levy was awarded the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Duquesne University in 1976. He is board certified in clinical psychology, psychotherapy, hypnosis, forensic medicine, and forensic examination and is fluent in Spanish, French and English. Prior to establishing full time private clinical practice, he served as Chairman of the Departments of Psychology at Somerset State and Holidaysburg State Hospitals in Pennsylvania and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Frostburg University. Early in his career, he led the national hospital privileges movement in the U.S., which ensured that patients in general hospitals would have access to psychological services. He also authored the first national credentialing standards for psychologists who work in U.S. hospitals.

Lisa Tatum, MPM, MDIV, CPC, CH
Lisa is CEO and Research Director of The Levy Centers, Dr. Levy’s partner in life and work. Before joining The Levy Centers, she advised two U.S. presidents, the Congress and the U.S. Comptroller General for Health and Human Services on the relationship between mental illness, substance abuse and disease, and how to treat it.
An acknowledged authority in her field, her specialties in counseling include women’s issues at every stage of the lifecycle, recovery from abuse, anxiety, trauma recovery, dementia, and caregiver burnout. She is a master of The Levy Methods and adept at using them to help people prevail over serious medical problems like TBI, neurological disorders, cancer, heart disease, diabetes and chronic pain.

Carol Aslan, PhD
Dr. Aslan is a Consulting Psychologist whose experience spans two decades and a broad spectrum of race, culture and geography.
Qualified to treat a wide range of psychological concerns, her specialties in therapy include anxiety, depression, toxic relationships, cross-cultural conflict, major life transitions, and pain.
She is a licensed psychologist, or is licensed to provide psychological services via Telehealth, in eight states: California, Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Florida, Idaho and Virginia – and you can see her for free during Free Clinic at The Levy Center.

Elizabeth Rankin, CR
Beth is a Certified Reflexologist, Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master who brings the science and power of all three healing disciplines to her work.
She can affect the central and peripheral nervous systems and subtle energy meridians throughout the body, and clear the lymphatic system, just by touching your feet. She specializes in treating stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, inflammation, neuropathy, pain, hyperglycemia (diabetes), and gait & balance problems, but you would never know it: her therapy is like going to the spa for an extreme de-stressor – pure pleasure.
